This is Coda. H’es a 3 year old, 98 lb. German Shepherd. He was rescued from a very abusive family when he was 1 year old and I adopted him as soon as I saw him. He was 70 lbs. when I adopted him but he looked like a bear because he spent all winter tied to a dog house in Colorado. People, German Shepherds are not, I repeat, NOT JUNKYARD DOGS!! They are intelligent, loyal and very protective of their families. Coda was abused, starved and beaten. You will see that his left ear doesn’t go up. That’s because he was beaten as a pup and they split the cartilage in his ear. People say he looks cute with the one ear down. When I tell them the story of why it’s like that, well, you probable know the reaction I get.

i appreciate the comments, but violence begets violence. coda lives a great life now and has for over the past 3 years. dog parks, walks to the beach, swimming in the ocean and he has a daddy that cooks good meals for him. yearly vet visits and he has a twins size bed of his own, lol. thanks again for the comments
i don’t understand how anybody could treat an animal so cruelly, especially beatiful dogs like Coda, it makes me miss mine

well after reading about Coda tears came up to my eyes im emotional person anyway but when it comes to animals abused just gets me angry and i usualy carry that memory with me for life about the abuse which is an unfortunate trait i have one reason why i dnt buy newspapers any more as i was usualy in tears, but what a wee cutey he is and how happy is he now with you, youv done a brill job with him as we can all see

my shepard has 1 ear up and 1 ear down he loves being scratched under his downed ear my mom said that we should get the choped off but i wouldent let her

thats coll man i just lost my lilttle girl saterday.she choked on her rope and so did my other pup.i had 3 shepherds and now i only have one his name is huns.take good care of him and never tie him up
